The club call, K1IMI, is dedicated to my cousin Al Michaud [SK]. We both were active hams in our home town of Lisbon, Maine in the late 50's. Even though he wasn't a CW operator, he would laughingly refer to himself as "ditty-dum-dum-ditty". He realized the fun he could have on the CW bands with his call.
Whenever I came to Maine for vacations and extended stays, I operated as N4CW/1. I chose to get a club call (K1IMI) that I could use exclusively in Maine and keep in a separate log. Current operation is in Tenants Harbor (grid FN53jx, in Knox County), usually from early June to early November, plus or minus a few days!
I will QSL via LOTW and direct (please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your card), and NOT through the bureau! Bureau costs are prohibitive. You can use the N4CW mailing address, or QSL to PO Box 321, Tenants Harbor, ME 04860 during the time I'm there.
