Please call me Edd, hence the vanity callsign. Also note that, while our mailing address is in Sand Springs, our home (and my shack) is in Mannford, OK. The map here is correct. I was born in 1946 in Rock Springs, Wyoming but have spent most of my life in the Mannford-Sand Springs (near Tulsa) area. I went to school at Oklahoma State in Stillwater and got both an education and a wife. Louise, my bride of 40 years, is a Stillwater native. Actually, my education consisted mostly of drinking beer. We have two children, a daughter and son-in-law who live in Sand Springs, and a son and daughter-in-law who live in Atlanta. We also have two grandchildren and several granddogs. The picture above is our 1946 Chevy Cabover, which my son and I built about 10 years ago. I'm getting ready to put it on my QSL card. The vanity plate reads "Butugly" and it is almost universally known in this area by that name. I was a salesman for Tulsa Winch almost my entire working career and retired in 1998. Today, I play with a bulldozer, ride motorcycles, do some charity sign work, and (mostly) play on the radio. I'm also a Mason and a Past Master (2005) of Mannford Lodge No. 515. I got my Technician license in March, 2009 and the General in May, 2009. Yes, I'm thinking about Extra and I'm studying diligently. My previous call was KF5ABO. Equipment is an FT-950 for HF, an FT-897 for 2m and 70cm, a THP HL-1.5kfx amplifier, and a Palstar AT2K tuner. My current antenna is a 160m "Skywire" at 25' (536' long) and a Mosley TA-33m tri-bander for 20, 15, and 10m.
QSL's direct or through the OMISS bureau (if OMISS). No SASE's required for cards. I eventually upload all QSO's to LOTW. If you want an EQSL, you'll have to let me know. I enjoy working the evening nets on HF and you can usually find me on OMISS, one of the greatest organizations in ham radio. I run an occasional net on OMISS and you can find me there most every evening. Check out more on my blog: kk5edd.blogspot.com. Thanks! Last Update: May 1, 2012
