Now a little about myself. My name is Kendall I'm retired Air Force. I spent 21 year and retired in March of 2004 in Goldsboro, NC. Before I entered the Air Force I was born and raised in Oak Ridge, TN at the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains. At the age of 21 I entered the service and also married my wife 3 days before I entered service and she has stuck with me for 28 years as of this update. I have two daughters both are now in their 20s. My oldest just got married Oct 2010. It was a wonderful beach wedding at Emerald Island, NC. Their family is expecting so I'm going to be a grandfather. My youngest graduated from Wayne Community College and is going to North Carolina State (NC State). Her major is in Animal Science. I first got my Tech license in Oct 2007 and updated to General in Oct 2008. I am running a Kenwood TS-2000 for HF with a Kenwood MC-60, Ameritron AL-811H amplifier, and a Palstar AT2K antenna tuner. My antenna are a dipole MFJ-1778 flat top also made a 40 meter folded dipole. On 2 meters I made a homebrew Slim Jim made from copper tubing. Which a fellow ham is now using and loves. I replaced the homebrew Slim Jim with a 5 element quad made from wood and wire. Then I removed the quad and replaced it with a 5 element yagi made from an old TV antenna. I'm looking for another TV antenna to make a 70cm yagi. I removed the 5 element TV antenna and purchased a Hy-Gain VB-214FM a 14 element beam for 2 meters. It is up on the roof at about 25 feet. On Jul 16, 2009 I added a 4BTV to my antenna farm. I started with a G5RV which I still have. I have added my last two antennas a Cobwebb for 20, 17, 15, 12, and 10m that I built.As you can tell I love making antennas instead of buying them. I will post updates and picture as they become available. I am looking at making a 20 meter beam in the future.
