KT4BSA is the club callsign at Boy Scout activities by local Amateur Radio Operators. At the Tuscarora Council in Eastern/Central North Carolina, we offer Radio Merit Badge classes twice a year. The Tuscarora Council has been very supportive of JOTA and teaching of the Radio Merit Badge. So far over 80 Boy Scouts have completed the Radio Merit Badge. We operate during Jamboree On The Air (JOTA), Campouts, and other Scout events. During the 2007 JOTA booth we had over 500 visitors and over 200 Scouts talk on the air for the first time. 18 Boy Scouts completed the Radio Merit Badge. JOTA 2008 had about 200 visitors and 100 Scouts talk on the air. Tuscarora Boy Scout Reservation was the host of Order of the Arrow Conclave in April, 2009. We had over 500 people visit our booth to see the different radios and antennas. We look forward to continue keeping Scouts interest in Amateur Radio. If you contact us you can receive our QSL card by sending a SASE (Business size envelope) to my mailing address. 73, K4KDP "A Scout Is REVERENT" Last modified: 2011-01-21 22:37:46, 1074 bytes fetched
