Greetings!

If you are reading this, you have likely successfully managed to communicate with me while I was doing one of my mobile antenna experiments.

I tend to go on line by the alias “Ash-Fox”, as I have used this alias since 1993 and because I have used it so frequently, it is often a name more real to me than my actual legal name -- don't be surprised if you find people calling me “Ash-Fox” on air or in person.

I hold dual nationality for Britain and France -- currently living in Britain. However, I haven't lived in Britain all my life, nor have I ever lived in France. By a twist of fate, I ended up living in Poland for around 12 years and additionally lived a few summers in various other European countries such as Denmark, Sweden - as such, I am well travelled and have been to all sorts of interesting places, from places like the USA to the completely obscure (I'll avoid mentioning names, so I don't offend).

From a very young age, I have been fascinated by communication technologies and spent a long time playing with electronic lab kits -- building small transceivers, developing/modifying IRCds along with logging on old dial up BBSes. As I progressed on in life, this interest has never really left me. With radio, there is limitless new fascinations for me to experiment and connect to people with.

I have spent many years trying to get into amateur radio at a young age, but have had many difficulties finding the information and people who could help me in the various countries I've lived in. It's only when I returned to the United Kingdom that I actually got a license and started doing much more. There has been some surprises a long the way, for example -- I never quite imagined at first that, I would enjoy getting QSL cards as much as I do.

I have a vast interest in computer related subjects too - It's possible you may find me involved in supporting various computer related projects such as Kubuntu, OpenSuSE, Wine, AROS, Second life and IRC (QuickFox) and others. I also have a few non-computer related interests such as tarot, furry, industrial music and even some animé. For the more “common” interests, I enjoy playing some computer games and doing fitness regularly.

Job wise, my field has more or less always been in IT/ICT. From doing development work to Unix/Linux/Windows/system/network administration and technical support. If you need help with IT, feel free to contact me, I am at least able to point you in the right direction to get your answer, if I don't know it.

Thank you for the QSO and wish you all the best!
