Hello All, if you’ve worked me on the CW bands, you may guess, I really love a good CW rag chew. A member Fists:13486. I joined the CTC DX group as well, #2.472 for European DX stations looking for rare ND contact.I got started in Ham Radio 1976 via my mentor, Russell Burgess, W0PUP in Velva, ND. Russell gave me my first Novice exam and I was very excited to have passed and get on the air. I’ve been involved in the hobby ever since. I’ve had up many wire antennas and at one time, a complete dipole farm for all HF Bands. I called it a bird trap, for an occasional Owl would bump into the wire and lucky none ever got hurt.I also had a home brew 20 mtr Quad up 60 feet on a rebuilt wind mill tower but the winds in ND were very hard on it. I took all down after a number of short years into the hobby and put up a Mosley Classic 33 with the 40 meter kit on it and after an ice storm broke the boom. I replace it with a heavier ¼ thick boom, one piece and that did the trick for the ice but the wind again was a factor.I had a HyGain DX 88 Vertical up also but didn’t use it much until I moved out of the valley 11 miles East of Velva to Bergen, ND, my present home. I have the Vertical up out here and now I am hoping to get up a Delta Loop, since I’ve had one up before and it’s a very choice antenna for those of you that have the room.I have enjoyed some Sky Warn activities and Field Days with the Minot, ND radio club. A great bunch of operators as well.I’mrunning a whole new stn, IC7600,LDG1KWPro autotuner, signalink Delux forsome digital Modes. Still work majority of CW. Being in rare state for CW operators, we hams in ND, do stay busy.
