I finally found 6 meters, and am having a good time chasing grid squars, and I surly need yours.  I built a 4 el yagi and I now have it up on the tower at 75 ft.  and it seems to be doing really good.  Was able to work 148 miles to Lexington SC ground wave, and got a solid 55 sig report.  Kinda made me thumb my gallasses.  LOL.  Please listen for me on 6 meters.

I was first licienced in 1977, as a Tech, with the call sign of WD4JRS and 4moths later as a Gen. when I recieved N4ANV,  and about 8 months later I upgraded to Adv.  and have held that licience ever sence.  My wife worked really hard after having a stroke, and passed the novice test, and was assigned  KC4TBS, thats the Turner Broadcasting System.  She is now an old novice holder.

I have enjoyed many different things as a ham.  I started out contesting,  and the first week I had a licience I entered Nov. Sweepstakes.  Boy what an experience for a beginner.  Was the leader in 4 land, on a couple test, which I thought was fair for my little old home station.  My first ant. of any size was a 4 element homebrew quad. on 10-15-20.  I at one time had a four Square on 80, and it was big in Europe.

My second attachment as a Amature was Dxing, and I got up to 312 worked before becoming a short wave listenor,  I just could not find a new one, so I began to chase counties of the US.  I then worked all counties, and achived USA 270.  I the began operating in as many counties as I could, and have now operated from over 2000 counties in the us.  TX has 254, and I have operated from 242 of them.  It took around 30 days.

After a lay off of about 5 years during the low end of the Sun Spot Cycle, I am now back on the air, and enjoying just doing a little rag chewing, and working DX all over the world, a kenwood TS 570S and a Henry 2KD Calsic amp, into a TH7 DDXX at 65 feet.

I like to QSL and will return all request by the same mannor I reseave them.  Been at the same address for over 40 years.

Well after 34 years of haming, most of the time as an advanced, I just never cared to take the time to earn the Extra.  Well guess what,  on around June I begin to think I would supprise every one and take the extra test,  so around the 15 of June I began studying for the test, and on July 10 I tested for the extra, and passed it the first time around.

As you can probly see I was a Professional Photographer for most of my adult life, and I still enjoy making great looking photos.  Something I do on QRZ, is look at the quality of other folks photos, and if they are real bad I right click and download them, make them look better and then e-mail them to the station.  That has brought some great response, and also gotten me throught some big pill ups.  I took the photos below at the "City of Lights" campas, South of Charlotte NC, home of the Inspiration Network.  This was a really nice facility.

This was in afternoon.                         The same towers at night.

As a Photographer I had a team of as many as 14 photographers at one time, and our mission was to photograph the testing of parachutes for the 82nd Airborne Dir, and all the equiptment which they droped out of Air Force aircraft, C130, C141, C5, and the new C17, plus all the choppers that were used.  After 30 years as a civilian, I retired at the age of 55.  I am now 71 years old.

God Bless, and never forget this country was and Is created with Christian principles,  and "In God We Trust."
