Hello from N4EDX . Mr. Ed I am a new ham, as I have studied for and passed the
Tech and General so far this year, I hope to graduate to Extra before years
end. I have found I like to build antennas, what ever the design, I'm game. I
recently had too much time on my hands and discovered I could make an old set
of rabbit ears resonate on 2 meters ! It worked as I set the the SWR to 1:1 and
hit the local repeater !
I enjoy DX and studying propagation. My favorite is 10 meters. I can be found
monitoring 28.380 usb with the gang from across the Upstate of South Carolina
and Mountains of North Carolina.. or if its quiet, one of the many other bands
I have privilages on! I have an (old) Kenwood Shack.. TS-940S/at and TR-7400A
for 2mtrs and a TW-4100a for 2/70 I have an Inverted V for 160 meters and a
Carolina Windom for 80/60/40 and a vertical at 115ft for 10/12/17 and a small
17ft vert. for 2 meters/70 cm at about 45ft. (I just picked up a Yaesu FT-100
for 6 meters) I am a member of ARRL, Greer Amateur Radio Club, Blue Ridge
Amateur Radio Society, Inc. The Infamous 28.380 Rag Chew Crew and last but not
least 10-10 International Net My 10-10 number is 74943. I look forward to a qso
