Hello friends,
I started in Amateur radio in the early '60s by a friend with the Voice of
America in Greenville. I work a lot of VHF,UHF and 220. I have a Ten-Tec Omni
VII on HF and enjoying it very much. My wife of 36 years is also a ham.
I enjoy collecting antique amateur radio gear. I like the older Hallicrafters
radios.
I moved to Greensboro, NC in 1992 with my wife who was relocated here.
I'm presently a graphic artist and a veteran of 40 years in photojournalism.
I'm self-employed as a digital photo restoration artist. I still shoot for the
news media whenever I see something worthwhile. I also shoot mostly digital
nowdays and really having fun exploring the new media. I enjoy taking my camera
gear to the coast of North Carolina and shooting sunsets and landscapes.
My experiences as a Ham and a News Photographer are to many to tell here, but
it's been great!
Along with being webmaster for a number of Ham related web sites in the area, I
also have a weather station with interactive links at www.n4gvk.net I'm also
involved with APRS/weather data on UI-View.
That's about it from Greensboro, NC. 73's
