N4HCL will be on the air in celebration of the ship's launch. Operational periods will vary. Frequencies will be on or near 14.260 and 7.260 SSB and 14.031 and 7.031 CW.

DOMESTIC QSL: Due to budget constraints, we must require a SASE to complete QSL confirmations. We will work hard to get your cards out within a week of receiving yourreport but please, be patient as our staff is very limited. INTERNATIONAL QSL: Reply with 1 IRC and SASE to the address above. Do not send currency!

Mission: The USS Bon Homme Richard CV/CVA 31 Amateur Radio Association was established in 2008 and will operate on selected dates as a special event station, paying tribute to the former U.S. aircraft carrier and the thousands of men who served aboard her both through times of peace and three major wars.

N4HCL: Our vanity call sign reflects the ship's original Navy call designator, NHCL.

On The Air: Expect to hear the station on the air on April 29 each year, as we celebrate the ship's 1944 launch. We will also operate on Memorial Day, Navy Day (October 13), Veteran's Day (November 11) and 1944 commissioning day (November 26). Other operational events may be added later.

Note: The USS Bon Homme Richard Amateur Radio Association is not eligible for participation in the Museum Ships On The Air event as the ship has been scrapped and there is no official public memorial. To minimize confusion, the station will not be on the air during this event.
