I first became interested in amateur radio in July 1999 after listening to a friend (Jim WZ7W) doing CW in his car. From that moment I was hooked. Morse was something new to me and I just had to learn it. I enjoyed every minute of it and I suppose that is why it came fairly easy. Most times you will find me on the lower sections of the bands but I enjoy just about any aspect of ham radio I run QRP and find it a lot of fun to make contacts (especially DX) with a small amount of power. I will QSL with a card if I receive one but I only really send if I need State/Country/Number whatever. One of these days I will sit down and try to chase down an award but other then trying to work new places, I am not really a "paper chaser". I use http://www.arrl.org/lotw/ and after a what could probably be a more streamlined process is a great way of saving on postage. I also use http://www.eqsl.org/qslcard/ . My home QTH is in Pasquotank County but during the warm months you may find me on the Outer Banks of NC in Dare county running portable. Last modified: 2011-01-22 00:30:13, 1121 bytes fetched
