I first became interested in amateur radio in July 1999 after listening to a friend (Jim WZ7W) doing CW in his car. From that moment I was hooked. Morse was something new to me and I just had to learn it. I enjoyed every minute of it and I suppose that is why it came fairly easy.

Most times you will find me on the lower sections of the bands but I enjoy just about any aspect of ham radio

I run QRP and find it a lot of fun to make contacts (especially DX) with a small amount of power.

I will QSL with a card if I receive one but I only really send if I need State/Country/Number whatever. One of these days I will sit down and try to chase down an award but other then trying to work new places, I am not really a "paper chaser".

I use http://www.arrl.org/lotw/ and after a what could probably be a more streamlined process is a great way of saving on postage.

My home QTH is in Pasquotank County but during the warm months you may find me on the Outer Banks of NC in Dare county running portable.
