I'm an Extra Amateur Class operator, living in Lake Charles, Louisiana with my wife, Cathryn, and son, Myron. When not on the air, I'm the President / Founder of SOYBEAN.COM, and my bio can be found at www.gregcaton.com

Favorite freqs: upper 20 meter (SSB)in the mid-evening. Use lower 15 / 20 meters on CW to keep up on the code. I rarely contest. Favorite Rig: Icom 746 Transceiver with Health SSB-221 Linear Amplifier; Cushcraft antenna farm, including A4S with U.S. Tower tri-scoping to 65 feet before the mast. Prefer to DX on the HF bands, since 2 /6 meters up through UHF are virtually airwave ghost towns in my area. Seeing a real decline in the number of new people who take any interest in radio. A real shame.

I am the oldest grandson and active ham of now silent key, Jesse E. Caton (WA6ZBC), who died on March 11, 1999, at the age of 90. (See his bio here at qrz.com.) I can be reached at greg@soybean.com.
