My name is Bob Cash. I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan. There I worked at the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium and WZZM TV-13 (ABC) affiliate. In 1994 I moved to Tucson, Arizona where I worked in television production at KVOA TV-4 (NBC) Then on January 1st, 1998 I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona near Phoenix. I worked for KSAZ FOX-10 news in Phoenix for eight years. In August of 2006, I started working for Echostar at the Dish Network's satellite broadcast center in Gilbert, AZ. Currently, I live in Gold Canyon, Arizona (Just South of the famous Superstition Mountains).

I have been a Ham Radio operator with a general class license of N8IMO since 1987. My station consists of an Icom IC-756 Pro-III and Yaesu 901DM. I enjoy all the bands and have been playing around a lot with the "digital modes" lately. I also receive NOAA POES satellites and have a website where I upload their daily images of the Earth. http://www.n8imo.com/APT/

While in Michigan I was the Skywarn director from 1990-1992 for the National Weather Service. I was in charge of coordinating weather spotters for Western Michigan during severe weather. This interest in storm chasing has continued to grow, and now I can be found spending the summer "Monsoon" season chasing and photographing storms in Southern Arizona. When there is no clouds over head and its clear at night I spend my time observing and photographing the wonders of the night sky. I am also co-owner of a company called "Sky Safari" which specializes in on-site star parties, bringing telescopes and astronomers to various locations around Arizona.

I also work as an observer for Minor Planet Research, Inc.(MPR) where I search along with other astronomers for Near Earth Objects (NEO's). I have discovered or co-discovered a number of Asteroids and NEO Asteroids using the LONEOS 24" telescope at Anderson Mesa near Flagstaff, AZ. World-wide attention was given to my discovery and recovery of asteroid "2003 SQ222". This asteroid just happened to be the closest asteroid near-miss ever discovered up to that point. (My 15 minutes of fame!).

I make music too. Since 1983, I have been recording music with a number of modern and vintage synthesizers, along with many other instruments including drums and guitars.
