My name is Tom Lau. I am 71 yrs old. Areas of interest in amateur radio are weak signal detection (lowfer) activity at 137 to 190 khz, and, (hifer) activity at 13.555 mhz. I experiment with antenna structures related to lowfer, hifer and HF activities. I also enjoy dx and digital qso's. First amateur license was novice KN8EUC in 1957, followed by general class in 1958. Passed amateur extra class in 1962 and obtained callsign N8TL. Member of Army Military Affiliate Radio System for 10 years. Life member of Findlay Radio Club W8FT, maintaining digital radio systems at the club. I enjoy building equipment and antennas. I play piano for personal enjoyment. I graduated from the University of Toledo with chemical and engineering degrees and have worked 11 yrs in glass manufacturing doing glass strength research, and 24 yrs in semiconductor manufacturing industries, retiring in 2003.
