I am an active Skywarn spotter and CoCoRaHS county coordinator and trainer, I
have enjoyed weather observing since I was 13 years old when my parents bought
me a Heath ID-5001.
I have been active in APRS since 1996, with a mobile tracker N9QGS-9 and my
weather station N9QGS, being transmitted across 144.39 Mhz and viewable online.
I love to recover high altitude balloon launches and enjoy fox hunting as well.
I am active on HF mostly going after Special Event Stations certificates &
QSL's. I am starting to play around with PSK and other digital modes. I operate
with a Icom 718 and G5RV in the attic from home and Hamsticks from the vehicle.
Always been active in public safety since 1991 with Cook County ARES (Illinois)
and Scott County ARES (Kentucky) and served with Streamwood ESDA, Kane County
OEM in Illinois and currently serve with Scott County EMA/OHS in Kentucky as
weather specialist.
