Provocative Call Sign? Negative Simply my tribute to the U.S. Navy destroyer I served on from '69 -'72, the USS Myles C Fox DD-829 one of 99 "Gearing" class destroyers.. She was assigned the maritime international call: NAZI at commissioning March 1945, participated in the final months of WWII in the Pacific, took part in the surrender and occupation of Japan. For 34 years she made many trips to the Mediterranean, N. Atlantic, S America, Middle East, two tours in Viet Nam, etc. She saw 60+ countries and lots of sea time; decommissioned 1979 and sold to Greece for her final working years; scrapped in 2001. So, everything is not always as it seems. Vanity call of NA2ZI is my way of keeping the memories of the crewmen who served aboard her alive, though many have passed on, with fond memories of the November Alpha Zulu India call. 73 to them, and Greetings to all of you. See her in all her glory serving our country at: http://MylesCFoxDD829.net Ham license since 2005; active on PSK31, UHF/VHF, Echolink Link #382012, and HF ssb on Yaesu FT-897D (and 857D in the mobile); home-made antennas as follows, G5RV and Windom, 2m/70cm Copper pipe Super j-pole.
