Operate almost exclusively at sea aboard merchant ships. Have no radio station at home in Oregon. Currant ship is the "President Adams". A 950 foot container ship. She makes about 43,000 horsepower and about 24kts on a good day. Our itinerary is as follows: Staten Island, Charleston SC, Savannah, Norfolk, across the North Atlantic, through the Med/Suez Canal, through the Red Sea and olur first foriegn port, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, then to Port Klang in Malaysia, Singapore and Columbo, Sri Lanka. Then back to Staten Island to start again. Takes 56 days

Rig at present is an IC7000 and a 35ft marine whip about 100 ft above the water matched with an AH4. Considering a little screw driver antenna if I can decide on which one. The big whip is a pain to take down when I go on vacation and I figure I could bring the screwdriver home for some haming from my truck.

Just turned in my retirement papers and dont anticipate going back to sea. Will surely miss it but am looking forward to not getting underway.
