Click for more detail... I just retired in December from a career as a marchant marine Radio Officer (Sparks). I am in the midst of building my new retirement ham station. I havent had a station ashore for too many years. Did all of mky hamming from aboard ship. Being too lazy to rig a part of my garage into a shack, I baught a 27 foot Airstream trailer (1974 Model) to act as the shack. Just got her home mid January and have much to do to get her making smoke. Have almost all of the pieces and parts I need. Just need a little warm weather and some time. Seems that retirement isn't all that easy.. Always something that needs doing. I have a HI Q antenna, a Henry 3KD Classic excited with a TS2000. My trusty Vibroplex died a violent death enroute home at the hands of one or more of the baggage gorillas as a part of the Airlines special service to customers.. But soon I will have a gold plated replacement. I will replace the ship;s photo with one of my new shack as soon as I get the shack together. I QSL direct if your interested. I;ll try to answer any that are sent to me. In the past it was very iffy. I was at sea at least half the time and didnt really have much time for qsl cards when I was home. many of the cards sent to me never got to me or were stored and I have not yet found em. Hopefully that will change now.
