I have always had an interest in amateur radio since I can remember. I really got the bug when I met the original W4CKT(Monte Miller-SK), while I was attending college, and he introduced me to the world of ham radio. I went for many years toying with the concept but never really studied or took a test to see if I was capable of getting my ticket, until February, 1990. I went to a Novice class that the Va. Beach, VA club was giving and passed my novice test with flying colors. The Chesapeake clubs hamfest was the next month and I passed my Technician exam. My call assigned by the FCC was KC4PSL. I have since moved to Florida and enjoy the change quit well. I applied to change my call in December, 1998, when the gate opened for my license class and was assigned W4CKT. I needed to commerate my ELMER in some way as I never got to thank him in person. In May, 1999 I upgraded to Advanced Class, bypassing General by taking both the General and Advanced written exams and the 13wpm code test. I now enjoy the priviledges that come with the upgrade. For passing the code exam I have to thank several of my fellow club members for encouraging me to keep going when I wanted to just give up. Three months prior to the FCC changes in upgrading proceedures, I passed my Amatuer Extra written exam, but missed the code test. Of course when the deadline came I applied for upgrade to Amatuer Extra. I now enjoy all the privileges that go with the license. I am presently a member of two(2) clubs in Tampa, FL, Tampa Amateur Radio Club (TARC) and Tampa Bay Amateur Radio Society (TBARS)and one (1) club in New Hampshire, Port City Amateur Radio Club (PCARC). I am also an annual member ARRL and 10-10 International (#61842)and am now participating in the 3905 Century Club on 40 meters and 75 meters SSB. QSL's, other than those sent throught the 3905 40mtr. or 75mtr. QSL buros, should be sent per ARRL Callbook / QRZ / Buckmaster's. Please include SASE or SAE and sufficient postage or greenstamps to cover postage. All QSL's will be acknowledged in this manner. 73 and good DXing, Myrl L.(Lee) Seeley W4CKT(Willies 4 Chicken Killin' Tomcats) Rev: W4CKT - Wed Nov 18 13:10:50 1998 Last modified: 2011-01-21 23:38:32, 2212 bytes fetched
