Hello From Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. I am a retired high school music teacher
from Ontario and am now, along with my XYL,VO1KAC, enjoying the relative
seclusion of a small out port town about 50 miles (80 km) west of St. John's on
the east shore of Trinity Bay.We share the house with a Jack Russell terrier
and a large yellow Labrador retriever. I run a relatively simple station using
a "vintage" Yaesu FT 1000MP and a Kenwood TS 570D. Both these radios
are, when in use, connected to an all band dipole antenna set up as a kind of
sloping inverted vee. I very seldom run more than 50 to 75 watts from this
location. The weather here in the winter months can be very hard on antenna
systems with lots of ice and wind so I do not have a yagi as the winds are so
strong at times that it would take a disc brake from a diesel locomotive to
hold a beam into the wind...hi I operate all CW on 20 mtrs daytime, 40 mtrs in
the evening and like nothing better than a good CW rag chew. I am a member of
the FISTS CW Club, #2900 which I got a few years ago when living in VE3 land. I
do NOT QSL via any bureau. Please QSL direct if you want a card. Cheers and 73
from Newfoundland Doug VO1DD FISTS# 2900
