I have been a ham operator continuously for 54 years.
I was first licensed in Michigan as W8NSO in 1953, operating Novice CW, then
160 AM, 75 SSB, and 80 RTTY. When I got married in 1966, I moved to Colorado
and obtained my present call of W0LMD.
Electronic experimenting, amateur satellites, PSK-31 & ragchewing are my
primary ham interests. I operate all the bands from Conifer, Colorado, which is
about 30 miles SW of Denver, Colorado.
I am designing a very narrow digital voice system (~ 50 Hz bandwidth) for use
on the amateur satellite AO-51 and anxiously awaiting a new High Earth Orbiting
Satellite like AO-40. My webpage gives all the details for converting TVRO
dishes to great ham antennas. In the meantime I enjoy modeling HF antenna
arrays for 160M to 17M, then building ones that look especially good. I do not
like the current generation of Software Defined Radio (SDR) , so I have started
a new activity called "User Designed Radio (USR)" - See my webpage
http://www.ultimatecharger.com/Ham.html for details.
I have several other serious hobbies, including large R/C electric
airplanes, amateur astronomy emphasizing astro imaging of comets, and
computerized music on my pipe organ.
