Hello.... I started hamming at 14 back in 1954 as WN1FMR.  Retired from Lucent Technologies 10 years ago after 40 years and seem to have a pretty full life.  I belong to Bethany church in Stratham NH, and babysit for 3 little grandkids.  Am an avid QRP and CW operator and have been president of QRP-ARCI international and co-founder of the NE-QRP club.  Love portable operating and Hamfests and old tube gear, and summer !!

The photo was taken on a salt water fishing pier in Seabrook NH. The radio is a 2 watt CW Sierra (kit) rig with plug in modules for different bands. The antenna is a 20' fiberglass fishpole with a 17' (20m) vertical wire and a few radials. The tuner is a Emtech Z-match. QRP contacts come real easy at this location.

I enjoy finding and fixing up old radios and rescued a few from the landfill. An old Heathkit AT-1 transmitter is my 'tube' QRP rig and have the whole Heath Novice station.  See you on SKN.

Am a member of the QCWA and recently enjoyed a cruise to the Caribbean with them. Photos at :

Just learning N1MM Logger and built a Winkey USB key and used both in the 09 Stew Perry Top Band contest running 5 watts to an endfed wire.  Checked some of the 89 stations I worked and the farthest had fantastic antenna arrays and Beverage receive antennas.   No wonder they could hear  a QRP station at 1 or 2 thousand miles away.  My congratulations to them !!!!!

Hope to meet you on the air...
