I was originally licensed in 1970 in Massachusetts and have been continuously licensed since then; although like many, my ham career has been interrupted by college, marriage and children.
My elmer (another 14 year old kid-W1YW) got me "hooked' on DXing and it has been my passion in amateur radio since I began. I had the honor to have my novice test administered by one of our town heroes, Ralph McClintock, still active, now as W1ZK. Ralph was captured by North Korea while serving on the Pueblo and held captive for 11 months.
In 2007, I achieved Top of the Honor Roll, when I worked BS7H (Scarborough Reef). I currently have 352 confirmed and 7 band DXCC. I have the distinction, along with my elmer and mentor (W1YW and W1ZK) to have #1 DXCC Honor Roll.
My current station is the Icom IC-7800 and Prometheus Amplifier by Dishtronix. Antennas are resonant beams for 10 through 40 meters and DX Cage antenna for 80 meters.

My Rig is a Ten Tec 580 Delta with a Antron 99 for 10 and 15 meters and two inverted V's that work on 20, 40 and 80 meters
