First licensed in 1964 in Anchorage as WL7ESA. Later upgraded to KL7ESA. I worked as an Air Traffic Controller at the Anchorage ARTCC. Transferred to the Ft. Worth ARTCC in 1976. Lived in Duncanville. Let my license lapse sometime later but my son Stephen got me interested again so he and I both got our calls. I upgraded to Extra as AI5W and Stephen upgraded and received the call K5SJC. I retired in 1986 and was hired by DISC as a Software Engineer still working at the Ft. Worth ARTCC. Received my vanity call sometime later as W3JC. Transferred to The FAA Tech Center in Pamona, NJ. Quit working for a living in Oct. 1992. Moved to Waxahachie Texas in 1994 and then to Waxhaw, NC, where my wife andI were long time volunteers for Wycliffe Bible Translators at the JAARS Center. My wife received her call as KG4WUO. Four days after 9/11 we went to Papua New Guinea for several months. I operated as P29CJ. We left Waxhaw on May 7, 2010 and moved to Arlington, Texas. I miss Alaska, especially the fishing.  My son Stephen  and I went back up there in 2006 and did some silver fishing. I'll pay your way he said, It'll be your birthday gift. That was a nice trip.  I sold most of my ham gear except for an old Kenwood HT (TH-235A) and an IC2100 I have in my truck.
