The Mountain Air Radio Club, callsign W4AE, was founded in 1996 by Dan Nixon, W4EA, and Todd Salyards, W4LA.

The Officers and Directors:

Paul Hansen, W6XA -Technical Director

Tony Vitolo, W4AV - Marketing Director

Ron Burch, K4DKZ - Public Relations Director

Carl Ferguson, W4UOA- Software and Automation Director

John Drum, W4BXI - Aerials and Welfare Director

The Club's primary activities involve Amateur Radio operation from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain, Lookout Mountain Range, and the Great Smokie Mountain areas.

We participate in various outdoor camping and hiking activities, promoting the fellowship and operation of Amateur Radio along the way. The annual ARRL Field Day is one of our most important club activities, an annual ritual we always look forward to. Keep an ear out for W4AE on the air.
