I retired from Merck Pharmaceutical in 1999. I live on an Island (IOTA-NA-112) which is part of the southern outer banks of North Carolina in the small Village of Emerald Isle with my wife Nancy and "Chess" our little Schnauzer. I was first licensed in 1976 as WN4RQA. Home state is Kentucky. I Moved to North Carolina in 1962.
My favorite sports are college basketball and auto racing. I have several favorite drivers in motorsports. My favorite basketball teams are the Duke Blue Devils and those Kentucky Wildcats. I enjoy most outdoor activities, spending time on the beach, walking, running (25-30) miles per week.
My station equipment includes the FT-2000D transceiver and a ALPHA 87-A amplifier. Antennas consist of a 4 element SteppIR at 60 feet for 6,10,12,15,17,& 20 meter, it sits on top of a 55ft US crank up tower. A W4 Charlie Henry Double Bazooka, NVIS, Delta Loop and a Half Square for 40, and a full wave loop for 75/80. Thanks for reading, hope to see you somewhere on the bands.
