This is a weekly Gathering of Amateur Radio Mason Gathering in the Freemason
Room on the eQSO Internet system and the *Masons* Conference (Node 83055) on
the EchoLink Internet system and On The Air when connected via Links and
Repeaters.
The Gathering takes place each Sunday evening at 8:30pm Central Time / 9:30pm
Eastern Time (Monday 01:30 UTC), and usually last for about an hour to an hour
and half.
The first “Masonic Gathering” was held on September 8, 2002 with 10 stations.
It has now grown to some 650 plus member amateur radio stations with a check-in
list of about 30 stations on any given Sunday meeting night. A complete list of
stations can be found on the Masonic Gathering web site at
http://MasonicGathering.net under “Gathering List” To become a member see
"Petition"on the web page
And we have some special events such as Field Day coming up, and it is a GO!
The club operates amateur radio stations, generally coordinated by a Masonic
Gathering net control station, for the purpose of support of “community” by
providing volunteer services to help insure the safety of the public, event
participants, and other requested services such as emergency communications on
HF and VHF Amateur Bands. Of particular interest to the Masonic Gathering is
support for charitable events in support of the Shrine and Scottish Rite
Hospitals for Children.
Members must hold a valid Amateur Radio License, must be a member of a Masonic
Lodge, and be registered as a member with the Secretary of the Masonic
Gathering by way of http://MasonicGathering.net under "Petition"on
the web page. There is no cost for membership and no dues are assessed.
Members meet “on the air” via VOIP and linked amateur radio stations every
Sunday night for the purposes of conducting any business at hand and as a
social Gathering of licensed Amateur Radio Masons.
