A note from the club Trustee about our call sign. At one time it was governmental policy to assign University call signs from the bloc of W#Y#. For example, W5YD - Mississippi State University; W5YG = Rice Univ; W5YJ = OKlahoma State University and W5YM = University of Arkansas (Okay, enough, you get the idea). All the Price Family children were born in Fayetteville, AR while the Trustee was a faculty member of UofA. As a graduate of the same school and former officer of the ARCUA (W5YM)since the University radio club in my present city of residence is no longer in existence, it seemed appropiate for our club to apply for W4YM as a club call sign in memory of years in residence at W5YM.
