Its nice to be back into Ham Radio after a 25 year period of inactivity. I unpacked my Heathkit SB303 and SB401, put up dipole and I was on the air at the Clayton, NY summer house in the 1000 Islands this summer (2006). I also purchased a Yaesu FT-990 and have enjoyed its capabilities. In the winter we are in Homosassa, FL which is 60 miles north of Tampa on the Gulf Coast. I have the FT-990 and a 40/20M dipole here in Florida. I got into Ham Radio with my first Novice Lic. around 1959 in Johnson City, NY. I retired from Link Flight Simulation, Binghamton,NY in 2000 after 35 years of service. Link was owned by Raytheon then. Our Summer Home Address is 36881 Maloney Rd., Clayton,NY 13624 (June-Sept) I am pleased to report I passed my Extra Class exam 1/20/2007. My old call (as of 03/24/2007) was WA2SKV. May 2008 - I have added PSK31 mode to my shack now. I have an IC 706 MKII, Signalink USB and DigiPan software for the mode. Nov. 2010 - Just added a IC 756 Pro III to the shack, enjoying the capabilities of this fine radio. I also enjoy CQ100 (VOIP) and hang out on 14.176 with a bunch of wonderful Hams.
