QSL INFO
I have been a ham for over 45 years. I have received many box loads of QSL cards. Being in Vermont means I get
many QSL requests. I will QSL the State of Vermont (Rutland County) as
follows:
STATESIDE: please send QSL with SASE only.
DX: QSL direct 1 IRC or $1.00 for return postage.
ELECTRONIC: No eQSL. No LoTW (computers take up too much of time as it is).
Family
There are four hams in the family: WB2MIC Jozef; KA1PMS JeanneE (wife); KA1ZWK
Guinnevere (daughter); N1UKP Dylan (son). The club callsign is W1PAZ, the
"Wage Peace! Radio Group".
Ham Shack
See my homebrew Monster Transmatch made with homemade variable
capacitors, hombrew 6L6 xtal transmitter, binaural CW recepton, homebrew
paddles, etc. at:

Current HF station: Icom IC756 Pro III xcvr, Yaesu FL2100B amp (500W DC output
max), Palstar AT1500CV KW xmatch, MFJ 941D. Backup rig is Icom
IC701 bought in 1978. Completed building (3/6/07) the Elecraft K1. The K1 is
powered 100% by four Siemens 55-watt solar panels and six Trojan 220 amp-hr
6-volt batteries permanently installed in three (series) pairs that are then in
parallel. The portable QRP station uses the K1 with a homebrew quick setup 33
ft vertical with four 36 ft radials, a 7AH AGM battery and a 13 watt Topray
briefcase folding pair of solar panels. See: http://www.metaphoria.us/hamradio/PortVert.htm
The vintage station is my novice
(WN2MIC) transmitter which is a Hallicrafters HT40 and HA5 VFO. Also, for RX is a
Collins R390A. I also have a homebrew 6L6 40m tx, monster homebrew KW xmatch.
Antennas: 20-15-10 Cushcraft A3S tribander at 40 feet; 133ft inverted-L at 30
feet (160 - 10 mtrs); 260 ft long Zepp for 160 meters and up fed through MFJ
941D xmatch using 300 ohm twinlead; homebrew 40-meter quarter-wave vertical
ground mounted with 40 radials. Homebrew 1/2 wave vertical on 6 meters. Other
callsigns KG4EY (GTMO, Cuba 1971-72), special events: WW2GM (anniv. of Gugliemo Marconi 100th birthday from Camp Evans, Wall Township NJ April 1974), and WC2MC.
I am mostly a CW op, any speed up to 30+ wpm. To get away from contests and the insanity of some stations, poor operating while chasing DX, I operate PSK31 with a WB2REM ULI interface running 50 watts. Our family/club W1PAZ runs the a 222 MHz Echolink link in repeater mode on 224.96 MHz. It is Echolink node: 231220. The Echolink link is at 1,100 ft ASL in East Wells, running 3 watts output.
Other hobbies
Direct solar observation in Hydrogen-alpha wavelength with a Lunt Solar systems LS60THa refractor telescope and a B600 blocking filter. Target shooting (pistol and rifle): 9mm, 45ACP, 22LR and 7.62X54R Mosin Nagant. I'm looking for spent 9mm and/or 45ACP spent brass casings and will gladly pay the postage to send them my way.
