Hello, My name is Claude located in rural southside Va. in a small town. My main mode of operation is CW. My main transmitter that I use 99.99% of the time is a home made 6AG7/6L6 CW transmitter. I operate 40 meters, am crystal controlled, use a straight key, and a dipole antenna at 30 feet. I have 5 watts output! In 6 months after getting back on the air after being off for appx. 33 years, I have worked 126 rag chew CW contacts working all of the East Coast, from the NE to Fl. and as far west as Colorado, and East to the Virgin Islands. All of these were made by just being on the air, I had no pre arranged contacts. My receiver is a Realistic DX-160 an older solid state receiver with no filters.... Thank you for looking me up. The picture is the rig that I use.! 73's Claude...

Second Chapter.... 6-20-05

The 6AG7/6L6 is doing very FB..!!! I still operate as I did above, CW on 40 meters with this rig. I now have worked France, Pureto Rica, Barbados in the West Indies, and the US West Coast, toping over 225 contacts, with only 11 states to go for WAS. In much appreciation to the Glow Bugs group, I have been able to add a Heathkit HG-10B VFO to the 6AG7/6L6, and with a better power supply, my output power is around 20 watts, or better, either crystal controlled or VFO controlled, with the same circuit as above, just improved...!!!! I have the circuit and building steps posted on the web page. Very best of 73's, and THANK YOU for looking me up..... Claude....
