Licensed in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Feb. 20th 1973 as WN5IUU. I have enjoyed the hobby all these years and now am getting back into CW after 28 years 3 months and 26 days. WOW!! That’s a long time not to hear any dit – dahs... Just got back from Placencia, Belize for the “Straight Keys in Belize” The Glass Arm DXpedition September 6-13, 2006 the first straight key DXpedition ever. My wife (KB5GOE) and I had a vacation and a mini-DXpedition all in one. My code is off to say the least, but I had fun and want to thank all the op’s that contacted me on straight key and to say thanks for the QRS so I could copy you. Our group included Nancy Kott, WZ8C – V31AN, (Editor of World Radio Magazine and also the SMOOTHEST Fist in the West), Cal White WF5W – V31EA (DXpedition Chairman of the Texas DX Society of Houston), Eddy Reynolds K5WQG – V31MR (Who never left the Ham Shack), and me, WB5IUU-V31UU (With ringing noise still in my ears). We used the GHD Keys, a GT502, and the GT502MIL, Thanks to Marshall Emm, N1FN at Morse Express and Toshihiko Ujiie, JA7GHD at GHD Key. These keys were the greatest and will be getting one soon myself.
