Licensed first in 1990 as KC4SHA, I upgraded to Advanced as KQ4BH and carried that tongue twister for sixteen years. It took the CQWWDX SSB 2009 to convince me that I needed a vanity call. This one rolls nicely off the tongue and suits the Myrtle Beach location well so here I am, Jim WG4MB. I like SSB DX and local public service through the Grand Strand ARC. I tried CW but was no better at that than I was at playing a banjo. Ringing in my ears and chronic slow fingers!! My station is a Ten-Tec Jupiter driving an Ameritron ALS-600 to a Carolina Windom up fifty feet in a pine tree. VHF/UHF is the Alinco DR-635 dual band feeding a dual band vertical. My mobile is a 2001 Ford Ranger with a Ten-Tec Scout on 20M and an Alinco DR-605 dual band mobile. All mobile antennas are Hamsticks. Somewhere in the cupboards are a few Radio Shack HT's. I am active in Boy Scouts as a Troop Committee Member, Merit Badge Counselor, and serve on the Council University of Scouting staff. I'vehosted a JOTA station ever since Tony was a Wolf Cub Scout. If I can get the shack cleaned up I'll post a picture. Well, it seldom looks like this but you get the idea! 73's Jim WG4MB
