Greetings from ZL2BLQ Stan in Greytown I have lived here since 1950 and have been self employed within the building industry, where , while working at retirement Homes I could not believe how the clients filled in their days, just sitting around and not saying much to each other, guess they had told their story over and over and nothing was left. This was not for me so I chose a hobby that was available all hours and all weathers.Yes Amateur Radio.Three crash courses and passed on the third attempt, straight into CW and was lic Sept 1981.Stayed 99% on cw for a couple of years finally running learner sessions for a couple of years on 80 mtrs.Year 2000-2001 have enjoyed award chasing on 10 mtrs and look forward to condx holding up,My 10-10 nr 37883 VP nr 3184, and Fist nr 9068 cc1250, also now joined the SKCC cw group Member Nr 4356T. As at July 2009 - married 52 years to Nola, 4 married children, 9 grandchildren and three Great Grandchild. Looking forward to taking at least one fishing, My second Hobby. Also Ex Volunteer Fireman 28 yrs and now Lions club member 23 years Past President twice, Cabinet Skills chairman 4 yrs.

None of family are lic amateurs, but are on computers so if I get stuck just ask the kids ( hi ) I am available for information via E Mail for any information for visitors to our country.
