First licenced in May 1989 as ZL3TMS with a Technician class licence. Upgrading to a Full licence in March 1991, my call became ZL3RG and remains to this day.

Preferred mode of transmission is CW, although I also enjoy PSK and RTTY. I prefer to operate 'freelance' however do enter a few contests. I am happy to oblige with "Sked Requests' when and where possible.

The station consists of a Kenwood TS850S-AT with a Kenwood DSP100 and an Icom IC-746 for HF operations. The mics used are a Hiel dual cartridge and an Icom SM-20. The amplifier is an Acom 1000. The antenna is a modified Lightningbolt individually fed, 6 band Quad - 30 thru to 10 meters. An Array Solutions remote band switch is used. Full size individual loop for 40 meters. The antenna tower stands at 17 meters and is of galvanised tubular steel construction.
