First licensed in early 1966 as WN3FEW (novice) at the age of 16. Moved to New
Jersey in late 1966 and upgraded to WB2ZAD (general). Was inactive for a few
years and started again in 1985 as N2FET (general). Upgraded to Extra in 1987
and then in 2002 I changed my call to K2VY.
I am most active on 15 & 20 meter SSB. My present rig is an Icom IC-756PRO and
a pair of 572B's in grounded grid (a home brew amplifier built in an SB-200
cabinet). Transmit and receive audio processing includes: Heil PR-20 mic, dbx
286A mic preamp/processor, Behringer MX882 splitter/mixer, DOD 231Q dual
31-band audio equalizer and the Crown D-45 audio amplifier driving an Infinity
CC-3 speaker. I am not into ESSB, but I really enjoy trying to produce the best
sounding audio within a 3KHz bandwidth.
My antennas are a 15-10 meter Hex Beam up 35 feet and a home-brew 20 meter
double-bazooka at 31 feet.
I am an active member of the Rotary Club of Haddonfield and a member of the
"Rotarians of Amateur Radio" (R.O.A.R.) fellowship. See
http://www.ifroar.org for fellowship details. My main business is Web design
and hosting ( http://www.HolbenWebDesign.com ) and a secondary business of
commercial photography ( http://www.HolbenPhoto.com ).
