Click for more detail... I've been into radio since I was a kid, 30-something years ago. Became a ham in 2007 after a long wait and worked up to extra. I love every aspect of radio, from electronics to design, from broadcasting to emergency communications. I'm a seasoned graphic designer with a wife and five kids. My hobbies include; radio, electronics & shortwave broadcast listening - especially for the faint & obscure DX stations. Clandestine and pirate broadcasters a plus. I enjoy Collecting Japanese pocket transistor radios from '54-'64, and music albums. I love vintage Volkswagen Beetles and my favorite MLB team are the Braves. I currently use a Kenwood TS-130SE, MFJ-993B antenna matcher, barefoot 100-200 watts through a multi-band flat-top fan dipole for 80, 40, 20 meters. My goals for ham radio are broad and focus on the radio art, I enjoy any radio technology from QRP to digital and am not afraid to open a rig up for repair (or modification). My primary interest is in HF and progressing in emcomm skills. I've also been (very slowly) increasing my code proficiency, discovering the fun of CW! QSL direct, I enjoy and appreciate them. Hope to earn my WAS and DXCC soon! Please visit the site: http://k4icy.50webs.com/
