K7FL is located in rural Clark County Washington about 35 km northeast of Portland Oregon. This area is known for its forest and agricultural products, high technology industries and tourism. We are a short drive from the Pacific beaches and all season snow skiing on Oregon’s Mount Hood (elevation 3460M). The photo above is of Mount St. Helens, an active volcano that erupted in 1980, located 50 km north of our QTH. (Photo by Lyn Topink, USGS). Radio interests include contesting (co-founder of the IH9P CQWW SSB DX Multi-Multi Team) and low band weak signal work. I’ve completed 5BWAS, 9BDXCC and all 200 zones for 5BWAZ. This has been accomplished with single element antennas only. Other interests include mountaineering, gardening, aviation and cultural studies. K7FL’s primary station is an Elecraft K3/100and Alpha 91B. Antennas include a 160M Tee and a modified Hy-Tower. A K9AY RX loop is used on 80/160M. K7FL operates five propagation beacons: 28.2985 @ 10w and 50.060 @ 2 watts into inverted vees, 144.299, 222.050 and 432.301 MHz with ~20 watts output into phased KB6LQ horizontal loops. *** Beacon signal reports are always appreciated and QSL's sent upon e-mail receipt of reports/verifications ***. Hope to hear you on the bands! Last modified: 2011-10-26 05:19:04, 1412 bytes cached
