The picture shows my current antenna system, consisting of a Stepp-IR 4 element yagi for 6m through 20m at a height of 82 ft. (25m) and a Cushcraft 40-2CD for 40m at a height of 92 ft. (28m) on a Rohn 45 guyed tower. For 80m, I use an optimized Butternut HF2-V vertical and an inverted vee off the tower.

The primary HF station consists of a Yaesu FT-1000MP with a Command Technologies HF-2500 amplifier. In addition, I have restored an R.L. Drake B-Line, C-Line and Heathkit SB-200 amplifier as my ventures into "classic" radio. I also operate HF mobile with a Yaesu FT-857D when travelling cross country.

My QTH is located 13 miles (21km) northwest of the city of Omaha, Nebraska near the town of Fort Calhoun in rural Washington County on a hilltop overlooking the scenic Missouri River valley.

Originally from Wheaton, Illinois I have been licensed since 1970, holding the previous call signs of WN9FVD and WB9FVD. I was very active in the Wheaton Community Radio Amateurs radio club for many years in the 1970's and early 1980's.

I am presently employed as a Telecommunications Systems Engineer for Union Pacific Railroad, working on digital transmission systems including metro area and long haul microwave radio networks.
