The picture shows my current antenna system, consisting of a Stepp-IR 4 element yagi for 6m through 20m at a height of 82 ft. (25m) and a Cushcraft 40-2CD for 40m at a height of 92 ft. (28m) on a Rohn 45 guyed tower. For 80m, I use an optimized Butternut HF2-V vertical and an inverted vee off the tower. The primary HF station consists of a Yaesu FT-1000MP with a Command Technologies HF-2500 amplifier. In addition, I have restored an R.L. Drake B-Line, C-Line and Heathkit SB-200 amplifier as my ventures into "classic" radio. I also operate HF mobile with a Yaesu FT-857D when travelling cross country. My QTH is located 13 miles (21km) northwest of the city of Omaha, Nebraska near the town of Fort Calhoun in rural Washington County on a hilltop overlooking the scenic Missouri River valley. Originally from Wheaton, Illinois I have been licensed since 1970, holding the previous call signs of WN9FVD and WB9FVD. I was very active in the Wheaton Community Radio Amateurs radio club for many years in the 1970's and early 1980's. I am presently employed as a Telecommunications Systems Engineer for Union Pacific Railroad, working on digital transmission systems including metro area and long haul microwave radio networks. Please visit the web page of our local DX club, the Heartland DX Association, at http://www.hdxa.net. Our Club sponsors the NEBRASKA QSO PARTY each year in April. Wishing you the best of DX and see you on the bands!
