I got my first boat anchor at the age of 15. It was a National NC-240D purchased at the Grayslake HamFest in 1978. Through college I used this radio for SWLing and monitoring HF amateur communication. In 2005 my wife Shannon was instrumental in challanging me to get my amateur license. We are members of the Rockford Amateur Radio Association http://www.w9axd.org Now I enjoy HF digital modes and analog SSTV via a Yaesu FT-920 and a Cushcraft MA5B antenna. The newest addition to the shack is a Yeasu FT-847 earth station and satellite beams turned by a Yeasu G-5400 rotator. See you on the "waterfall" or on the satellites. 73, Robert - KC9ICH
