Greetings! If you're here you've probably heard me on air. My name is Nyath and I have Amateur Radio in my blood so to speak. My grandfather was K0MLO in the "golden age" of radio. My Uncle is WA7JUX in Ft. Worth TX and my cousin is KB9KLI in Pocatello ID.

Aside from the strong influence of distant family I grew up around Amateur Radio with my next door neighbor being a HAM operator as well as later in my teens after we moved. One of my high school best friends dad is W7USJ.

After doing a stint in the Navy as a Fire Controlman working on the NATO Seasparrow Missile System and having TONS of radio and digital theory thrown at me it's no small wonder I eventually got my license!

There's a funny story to that actually: I attempted to get my Novice ticket in the fall of 1993, however the very night I was to test for element 2 my 1st born son decided HE wanted to come into the world. So things being thrown into disarray with the coming of a baby and beginning a family and all that comes with that my aspirations for having my HAM ticket were put on hold for a while.

After many years and several trials and tribulations it was in late 2002 I once again began to pursue forgotten dreams. I became a Ham in February of 2003 and just recently upgraded to General and just made my first log-able DX Contacts in Finland and Switzerland.

I enjoy Rag-Chewing and Contesting especially. I participated in Field Day through a local club and solitarily participated in the IARU HF World Championships.

Currently my shack is equipped as follows:

HF Yaesu FT-757GX barefoot at 120 Watts all mode HF with 757AT Antenna Tuner, Cushcraft R-7000 Vertical 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 30, 40 Meters Antenna

VHF Kenwood TR-9000 All mode 2 Meter connected to RF Concepts RFC2-23 Linear Amplifier with Cushcraft 3 element Beam Horizontally Polarised for DX USB Work

Icom IC-2100 with Kantronics KPC3 Plus connected to Intel P4 Running Sun Solaris 10 UNIX for Packet work

VHF/UHF Yaesu FT-8900R FM 10-6-2-70cm FM Phone.

I plan to upgrade to EXTRA soon within the next year easily and I hope to QSO with you on air!
