Yes, I am good in the 3905 Century Club Bureaus!

Licensed in 1967 as WN2BQG. Later that year I picked up my General and Advanced ticket and was granted WA2BQG. I had no big attachment to my callsign. In the eighties I opted for a 2X2 callsign. No plans on upgrading to Extra; I am waiting to be grandfathered! Hello, FCC - I did take the test where you drew schematics so how about it guys!? (By the way, if you are studying for the Extra, the answer to any question about exclusive frequencies is "A".)

Currently running an ICOM 706 MKIIG barefoot feeding HF dipoles through an AT-11MP and share my Diamond x510 with an ICOM IC-208H. I work PSK31 and RTTY with a ULI Interface and monitor the bands with a Ten-Tec RX320 that my friend Dave Simon [N3ENY] sent me. Dave didn't apply for a vanity call but we both grew up in East New York.

In my car I just replaced my Radio Shack HTX-212 with a Yaesu Ft-7800R that pumps my trunk mounted Maldol EX-107 on 2/440. I know the antenna isn't the best in the world but at 28" it clears the garage door!

Just to prove I am a geek I always pack my Yaesu FT-60r. It is probably one of the greatest dual band HTs made. Just ask me. And Kudos to N2WWM (Curtis - World Wide Mouth) for introducing me to RayoVac IC3 2000mAh 15 minute rechargeables.

In the photo - Boulevard Projects, East New York, Brooklyn, NY circa 1970; a HW-100 5 Band Transceiver, Electro-Voice 638 microphone, WM-15 Reflected Power Meter and Eico Keyer; I built them all. Photo contributed from SIMONACO Industries archieves. (See N3ENY)

My next shack was in Bensonhurst. I was evicted from tat radio shack following the birth of my first child PJ. Perseverance always pays-off; now that the two older ones are smoking dope in out-of-town colleges I have two rooms crying out to be radio shacks. Perhaps it is time to move out of the basement. UPDATE - PJ is moving into a Co-op in the City and Andy is attending the State University of Texas at Austin. He was accepted into the Aerospace Engineering Program. It looks like I am going to have a 'rocket scientist' after all.

You can find me on the 3905 Century Club Nets (www.3905ccn.com). Yes, I am good in their BUROs. My favorite 2-meter repeater is run by LIMARC (http://www.limarc.org). My favorite 440 repeater is WB2HWW (http://www.wb2hww.com). Thanks to Howard and Keivan (W2KTU) for the IRLP and assorted rf links.

I am retired now and all my working buddies worry that retirement is boring. Well, I did both and let me say that working for a living is over-rated!
