Hello, You're probably looking at this page because I spoke with you recently
or are currently speaking with me. Well, the picture of the guy above is me,
and that is my wonderful wife with me (KJ4EXD). No, that was not a picture
taken here in Florida as you can probably tell from the snow. That picture was
taken in Russia while we were on a mission trip. I am a student at The Baptist
College of Florida working on my B.A. in Biblical Studies. After I'm done here
(in about 8 months), we will be heading up to Wake Forest, North Carolina where
I will pursue a M.Div. in Apologetics and a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Southeastern
Baptist Theological Seminary. Before I came to college here in Graceville, I
was a network security engineer for a consulting company in central Florida.
Why would I leave that to come here? Because the Lord Jesus changed my life.
I'm studying so I can effectively communicate the truth about Jesus and the
salvation that only He provides. Basically, I want to share the gift that was
freely given to me with the world.
I was licensed in 1996 but lost interest for about ten years. I then got back
into the hobby primarily for the purpose of emergency communications. I enjoy
various aspects of the hobby--rag-chewing, digital modes, antenna theory, etc.
My current home station is as follows: Icom IC-718, LDG Z-11Pro tuner, homebrew
dipole, Yaesu FT-8800 with an Arrow Antenna dual-band J-pole, and a PK-232 TNC
setup as an APRS digi/WL2K/Packet station. My current mobile station is a Yaesu
FT-8800 and my mobile APRS setup is an OpenTracker2 hooked to a Radio Shack
HTX-202 and a 30w amp. Check me out on http://aprs.fi/?call=KF4JZY-9 .
Besides being involved with HAM radio and a full-time college student, I'm
Pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Samson, AL., Vice President of the
Chipola Amateur Radio Club, an ARRL VE, the AEC for Jackson County, involved
with the emergency communications ministry with the Southern Baptist Disaster
Relief agency, SKYWARN Spotter, member of the Evangelical Theological Society,
and husband of eight-and-a-half-years. I've also completed the ARECC Level 1
and 2 courses along with IS-100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 FEMA courses, and am
trained in preliminary damage assessment.
Thanks for checking out my QRZ page. 73, and I will talk to you later.
