The station was established  courtesy of Bob W6BYA at his current QTH (my qsl manager 6M US) in Southern California.

The call KG6SIX was obtained in 2003 for operations in the old KG6S (Saipan KH0) and Guam KH2.

Retaining a US callsign is important to me to maintain links with my friends, who were instrumental in me obtaining my Advanced and my Extra class licences.

I keep close contact with 6M stalwarts in California including W6BYA, K6KLY, K6MYC, K6QXY, and Bill Tynan W3XO/5 and Jimmy Treybig W6JKV in Texas.

These operators inspired and encouraged me to strive for the results I have achieved on the 6M band.

Holding a US callsign opens up opportunities to activate any KH0-KH9 territory on 6 metres in coming years.
