Hey I'm  Richard ..I live in the big city of Paris Tx..I am 40 years young and work in sales... I got into radio as a kid listening to shortwave and fooling with CB's..I got my ham license in the early 90's(no code tech) and then passed a 5wpm code test..I used to run alot of VHF and 10 meters back then...I did get out of radio for several years but in the later part of 2004 I bought a house and put up a couple of antennas and once again the radio bug bit...I took the general test and passed in December 2004 . On June 25,2005 I passed the Extra class exam.

I am married to the greatest girl in the world (she is a ham and a professional DJ) and i have the best family any guy could ever hope to have. They do keep me pretty busy but in my spare time  you might catch me on any band running various modes from 160 meters to 440mhz FM...I still like to do some shortwave listening..

Right now my main hf rig is a Kenwood TS-870, I use a Senheiser 421 mic into a W2IHY 8 band EQ and then into an EQ PLUS...I use an Amp Supply LK800-A (3 x 3cx800a7) which easily makes legal limit with less than 20 watts input. I now use a tennadyne t-12 log periodic at 60 ft for 10 thru 20 meter operation...I use inverted vees for the lower bands. On vhf and uhf currently I use a Kenwood TS 790 with solid state Amps , I also have dedicated FM rigs always monitoring 10 meter fm, 6 meter fm, and 440 mhz fm...In the mobile I run a Yaesu ft-857D for hf with a texas bugcatcher

This radio stuff sure is fun!
