Hello all,

My name is Larry ARS-N5ASA,Born in 1956 in San Bernardino,California. On September 15, 1995 (The day before my Birthday) I took and passed my Technician class License & Issued (KC5QXU), 6 mos. latter my Wife Cookie (KC5TYV) passed hers. 3 yrs latter my Son,Gary (KD5CJT) passed His, and my Daughter Jenny (KD5LNF) passed hers a year or so latter.

Whew! All Ham Family! Now we got to work on the Grand kids, some will have to wait to grow up a little bit more hi.

(Update) My oldest Grandson, 11 yrs. old, Cody is Now KF5DMJ..I am a proud Papa!We are working on the others. hi

As far as myself,I have came up the ranks and acquired Extra Class in 1998. I have been a VE for ARRL & W5YI VEC, I have enjoyed Giving back to Ham radio. Promoting & Helping others to get interested and to get their Amateur Radio License.

Business: Owner of a small electronics repair company.

Public Service: Captain in our Local Volunteer Fire Department BFD in Baskin, Kudos goes out to Our Chief and all the Firefighters for Lowering our Fire Rating, from a 10 to a 6!

Elected official: (Sept. 2006-2010) to the office of Alderman (Councilman) in our small Village in Baskin,LA. Pop. 248 and I look forward to the betterment of our community.

Contesting,I have worked alot of contests and alot I have yet to enter,it is a Challenge,FUN to do and self satisfying, knowing and trying to get a better score than the last contest. I love chasing DX & collecting "Wall Paper".

I Love 6m! I won "First Place" ARRL June VHF Contest 2001/2003/2004/2005 & 2006 single op, Low power in LA Secetion. I did not get to enter in 2002,2007 & 2008. I hope to see what I can do this year 2009. UPDATE: I got to work the June VHF Contest, but from my work QTH 100 watts,6m M2 Loop @ 15'..Wish I were at the Home QTH. Blah!

Active: on HF/VHF/UHF and love to work the Digital modes, SSB,FM,AM,PSK,SSTV,Amtor,Pactor,RTTY,ATV (No activity in my area),.....CW occasionally seems I've lost some speed.

Other: I Love to help others on their "Charlie Whiskey" so they can get their upgrade and get more folks interested in the Ham Radio hobby and get involved with ARES & Skywarn, and Promoting Amateur Radio.

Station Set-up: My Ham Shack 14'x 28'x 8' Out building I built myself a several years ago, it's comfortable.

Antennas: 26b2 @ 197' 2m vert.,6 ele Quad 70cm vert. polarized @ 197', Tennadyne T31 31 Ele (50mhz to 1300mhz) @185'. 2m J-Poles @ 100' & 175', 75m Inverted V @ 100' I am Currently working on my 160m Inverted V @ 175'.

 

 

70' tower:  I have RCS-8V 5 pos. remote switch box, Tail Twister Rotor. @ 75' a TET HB-6F8 26' 8 Element 6m Yagi Horiz.,@ 70' Hygain TH5 5 ele. Tri-bandier, 80m Double Bazooka @ 50' and 40m Double Bazooka @ 50'.

 

 

Work QTH: 43' Tower: 75m inverted V wire, 10m A99 vertical, 6m M2 Loop @ 15'.

Update: I am going to put a18' 24 element M2 70cm ssb yagi & the36' 18 element M2 2m ssb yagi up and move the 26' TET 8 element 6m ssb yagi and 160m Double Bazooka up on the big tower when I get a chance.
