If you are looking up my info it's probably because we've worked on 6m. You probalby want a card for VUCC or to confirm UT for 6m WAS or both. That's OK. Just don't expect me to pay for it. So please do what I do for the new grids I work: Enclose a SASE with your QSL. If you do that you'll get my card. Most of my operating time, probably 95%, is spent on the vhf bands on up. I am active on 50, 144, and 222 meteor scatter using ssb and WSJT. The other vhf propagation modes are not neglected as I actively work aurora on 50, 144, 222 and 432, tropo-enhancement (we don't get ducting out here in the Intermountain west because of all the mountains)on those same bands, and rarely the ham sats. EME has been contemplated but I haven't yet tried it. Maybe one of these days. VHF/UHF and above operation is challenging, especially the higher you go in frequency (up into the microwave bands). The mountainous terrain in Utah only makes it more so. If all the good mountain tops had a road to them it sure would be a lot more fun but they don't. So you work around them. Like I said it's a challenge. Not having a gazillion other hams to work on the higher bands makes it a challenge also. But you know what; if it wasn't difficult to do vhf and above operation it wouldn't be any fun. C'ya on the bands! Dave NJ7A DN30xp Last modified: 2011-01-21 20:45:46, 1369 bytes cached
