I was first licensed in 1957 as K2YHL. First received W3ACO call in 1963. I
live in Iowa City, Iowa, about 350 Km west of Chicago. I am retired from
Rockwell Collins. I was an electronics engineer where I designed commercial and
military radio systems for airplanes.
My rig is an Elecraft K2 with a Toyko Hy-Power solid state amplifier running
600 watts.
My antennas are a 3 element Steppir at 55 ft, a 40 M vertical for 40M and also
matched for 30M, and a short vertical for 75/80 M. I work mostly 20M and 17M
SSB, CW, PSK and RTTY. I QSL 100%. For foreign contacts I use the buro or
direct. For foreign direct, I include SAE and postage if contact indicates on
QRZ.com that he wants postage. Otherwise I don't include postage. I send out
almost 1000 cards a year. I will respond with e-QSLs only to those who send
e-QSLs to me.
I hope to hear you on the bands. 73 Rich
