Being a retired Fire Captain and a Current Fire & Life Safety Educator, it is my hope that you have multiple working smoke alarms in your home and that you and your family practice "exit drills in the home (EDITH). Both will help protect you and your family from the perils of fire. The operating console is a modest Yaesu FT-1000MP Mk V, Kenwood TS-850sat, Kenwood TS-870, Ameritron AL-80B, homemade wire antenna, and a couple of vhf/uhf radios for local repeater and simplex operation. My operating practices are mostly 75, 40, and 17 ragchewing. I also enjoy working special events especially those working from US Navy Ships and other military events. Riding a Honda Rubicon 4 Wheeler, is another hobby that I really enjoy. The mountains of West Virginia offers some beautiful and challenging trails to ride and the opportunity to take my Yaesu FT-817nd along for some evening and on the trail contacts.
