Click for more detail... W4SIX is "Bill" Scott. I got my first ham ticket, "WA2GZI", in 1960. I have operated under numerous callsigns and have had periods of inactivity. My most recent absense was due to a stroke but my voice has returned (somewhat) and I've thrown up a six meter beam and am back on the air. My favorite band is 6M. I hope to have my complete station setup soon which will include equipment for HF, 6M, 2M and 70Cm. I have moved from a 3450' elevation mountain top location, in VA, where I operated primarily VHF/UHF bands. The current location is barely above sea level and should present quite a challenge. I enjoy hunting grid squares, ragchewing and working contests. I'm operating from a fairly rare grid square of "EL79" and I'm ready to confirm this location to as many as possible. I also enjoy helping ohters collect K1SIX's "SIX on SIX" certificate. I have had Parkinson's Disease for over a dozen years and I have taken early retirement from General Electric Co. where I held several engineering positions during a thirty-five year career. Since I'm no longer working I should catch more of the daytime band openings. Other passtimes that I enjoy are cheering for the NY Yankees, NY Giants and the Virginia Cavaliers. I also assist my wife, Rebecca, in the building of a backyard water garden containing several Koi and goldfish. I operate mostly sideband but have dabbled with various digital modes. I will occasionally dust off my key and resort to cw when I can't get thru on phone. Hope to catch you on the air! 73, Bill Last modified: Tue Dec 9 19:38:10 2008 Does this page contain inappropriate content? If so, Report this page... |
