Originally licensed as KB7QPA in 1992 it took an earth quake here in the Seattle area a few years back to get me active in ham radio again (all to my wife's dismay ;-)

The current radio setup includes an IC-746PRO, IC-706MKIIG, and my faithful TS-520S. Antennas are always changing, either by design or due to the weather...

I'm big on KB6KQ's loops for 50MHz and above. Several VHF/UHF yagis also grace my roof line. For HF I use wire and lots of it. Mostly dipoles. I can't seem to get beyond their simplicity. A Force-12 Sigma5 is on order and it will be my first commercially produced antenna for HF. My ham radio therapy group is really proud of this 'first step' into unabashed antenna consumerism. They are all envious.

(Update: Jan 20, 2003) My Sigma 5 is a 'happening thing'. It seems to be a great trade-off between footprint and effectiveness. I only wish I money for more Force-12 verticals.

My favorite bits of spectrum include 144.220 SSB and 3.904 SSB in the evenings and 14.200 SSB and 14.070.15 PSK31 with band openings.

When I'm not playing radio for fun or working for Marconi doing networking stuff I wrestle with my kids, feed the cat, kiss the wife and contemplate the metaphysics behind "why am I never in any of the pictures that I take?" But not necessarily in that order.
